Rochester RazorSharks News Release

(Rochester, N.Y.)Å The Rochester RazorSharks professional basketball team announced today the signing of two players to bolster the front court for the American Basketball Association team. Alvin Jefferson, a 6'9" center/power forward, and Eric Walton, a 6'8" forward, have agreed to terms with Rochester and will join the RazorSharks for tonight's game at NE Pennsylvania (Scranton, PA).

Jefferson, a 31 year-old native of Juliette, Georgia, played for the Nebraska Cranes of the USBL this past Spring, leading the team to the league's playoff semi-finals by averaging 9.6 points per game and 6.5 rebounds. The former Auburn University athlete has played eight seasons of professional basketball, including ABA clubs Ontario (CA), Long Beach, St. Louis, and Tampa Bay. Jefferson has also played over seas in Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg and Lebanon.

Walton comes to the RazorSharks from the Niagara Daredevils, who disbanded late last week. Walton scored 36 points against Rochester in their only meeting this season on Thanksgiving night. Walton, who competed at the collegiate level in track and field in both the high jump and long jump, led San Jose State in scoring and rebounds his senior season in 2003-2004.

After tonight's game at NE Pennsylvania, the RazorSharks (5-2, third place Connie Hawkins Division) return home to The Blue Cross Arena for a Saturday night game against the Maryland Nighthawks at 7:35 p.m.
