Rochester RazorSharks News Release

(Rochester, N.Y.)Å After three weeks of training camp, the Rochester RazorSharks professional basketball team will play their inaugural game at home in the Blue Cross Arena this Saturday, November 5 at 7:35 p.m. against the Buffalo Rapids.

Professional basketball returns to Rochester after a 24 year absence and the RazorSharks follow the proud tradition of the former National Basketball franchise, the Rochester Royals. RazorSharks Head Coach Rod Baker has a core group of 13 players (see roster below) that will play a 36-game regular season schedule with playoffs beginning in mid-March 2006. Rochester natives Demond Stewart (Greece Olympia/Niagara), James Reaves (Edison Tech/Niagara) and Scott Martzloff (McQuaid/Holy Cross) add hometown flavor along with Lazarus Sims (Syracuse), Chris Carrawell (Duke), Troy Brown (Providence) and Keith Friel (Virginia).
