(Rochester, New York) - The Rochester RazorSharks of the American Basketball Association will welcome and honor local basketball hero Jason McElwain at their home game at the Blue Cross Arena this Sunday, March 5 at 2:05 p.m. The Greece Athena High School student-athlete will perform the ceremonial tip-off before the game against the Boston Frenzy, then assist RazorSharks trainers Elyse Cohen and Dan Provenzano in Jason's usual role as team manager and inspirational cheerleader on the RazorSharks bench during the game.

The RazorSharks will donate $1,000 to the Arc of Monroe, which will be directed to benefit autism causes. The Arc of Monroe serves over 3,500 people of all developmental disabilities and they are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.

"What a great tribute to the Rochester community and America to have embraced the success of Jason and for all the people with developmental disabilities", said Arc of Monroe President

Jim Mroczek.

Affectionately known as "J-Mac", Jason's story of the autistic team manager who scored 20 points in less than four minutes in a local high school basketball game two weeks ago has captivated the nation for his exemplary conduct and enlightenment to the issues of autism.

"What a wonderful story and an inspirational person," said RazorSharks Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Orest Hrywnak. "We want to acknowledge Jason's contributions to his school and the Rochester community but more importantly to his basketball teammates and fellow students. We are proud to contribute to the ARC of Monroe County on behalf of Jason and his school mates."
