South Carolina Stingrays News Release

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays head coach, Jason Fitzsimmons, announced today the addition of Jamie Fraser and Josh Anderson to the roster for the 2006-2007 season. This brings the number of signed Stingrays to three after the Rays agreed to terms with Cail MacLean earlier this month.

Jamie Fraser, 20, a native of Sarnia, Ontario, made his professional debut last season with the Rays as they headed into the playoffs after playing most of the season with the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League. The 6'1", 199-pound center scored 16 goals with 26 assists for 42 points in 65 games with the Sting and added two goals and one assist for three points in nine games with the Rays.

"Jamie impressed his teammates and coaches when he signed with us in our playoff push," explained Fitzsimmons. "He has a great future ahead of him in professional hockey and should be one of the top rookies in the ECHL this season."

Josh Anderson will begin his first year of professional hockey when he joins the Rays this season. Anderson, at 5'8" and 181-pounds, hails from Fergus Falls, Minn. He played four years of college hockey at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., where he was captain his junior year with then senior Rich Peverley, a Stingrays alum of the 2004-2005 season. Anderson went on to captain his senior year, becoming the first two-season captain for the Saints since the early 1980s. Last season, Anderson played 55 games with the Lubbock Cotton Kings of the CHL, scoring 13 goals and adding 12 assists for 25 points.

"Josh comes heavily recommended from his college coaches," said Fitzsimmons. "He is a tireless worker that loves to come to the rink every day. He has a solid season in the Central League under his belt and should be able to step right into the ECHL and contribute immediately."

The puck drops in October for the upcoming 14th season of professional hockey in the Low Country. Order your Stingrays full season, weekend, or partial ticket package today by calling a Ticket Sales Manager at 744-2248 or visit us at www.stingrayshockey.com.
