Rawhide North Division Championship Series Preview

VISALIA, CA - The regular season is over and it's on to the North Division Championship Series for the Rawhide for the fourth straight season! Visalia awaits the winner of the North Division Mini-Series which features the Bakersfield Blaze and the San Jose Giants from September 7th - 9th. The 38-year quest begins for Visalia on Saturday, September 10th and continues Sunday, September 11th at Rawhide Ballpark and will conclude Wednesday, September 14th if necessary in the best-of-five-series.

Between the end of the regular season and the start of the playoffs come out to Rawhide Ballpark on Wednesday, September 7th at 6 p.m. for the 1st Annual Rawhide Hitting Challenge. The Hitting Challenge will feature four local baseball players and four local softball players competing for cash scholarships and will incorporate a variety of targets on the field at Rawhide Ballpark. There will also be a point scoring system in place. Each participant will get two minutes to hit as many balls as he/she can, with one 30 second break allotted at any time. This is a FREE event and concessions will be available. The gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Thursday, September 8th features the Rawhide Scrim-Jam which begins at 7 p.m. and will feature the current Visalia Rawhide against some top prospects in the Diamondbacks organization. MY 97.5 DJ Mike Pesto will be the guest host for the evening and there will be $3 beers available throughout the event that will feature music being played throughout the duration. This is also a FREE event and the gates will open at 6:30 p.m.

The North Division Championship Series kicks off at Rawhide Ballpark on Saturday, September 10th with a 7 p.m. first pitch vs. either Bakersfield or San Jose. Game One features a playoff T-Shirt Give-Away to the first 250 fans courtesy of Allen Law Firm and a Home Run Jackpot provided by Rabobank. The Jackpot will start at $100 and grow by $100 every inning if no player hits a home run. If a player does hit a home run, one lucky fan will win half the pot and the jackpot starts over. There will be half-price beer and discounted soda with the purchase of a $5 boot mug and new KJUG morning hosts Drew and Tori will be there to throw out the first pitch and hang out with fans. Don't forget to check out the Lifestyles Center table for in-game give-aways!

The 38-year quest for a California League Championship continues on Sunday, September 11th with Game Two at Rawhide Ballpark. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. for the 6:00 p.m. first pitch and we will be giving away playoff Rally Towels along with in-game give-aways all game long! As always on Sundays "Everyday Heroes" will receive a $5 Grandstand Ticket to the game.

Game Five of the North Division Championship Series will be on Wednesday, September 14th if the series goes that far.
