Saskatoon Mamba News Release
Saskatoon, Sask. - The Saskatchewan Rattlers announced Monday that the Rattlers Rim Revamp Project has started in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The Saskatchewan Rattlers released information about their new community initiative on their social media channels in the beginning of June; since their announcement they have received a large interest from communities all over Saskatchewan. Saskatoon Tribal Chief Mark Arcand and Saskatoon Mayor Charlie Clark joined Rattlers players and staff to kick off the Rim Revamp Project in the Holiday Park Courts in Saskatoon.
"Today, I'm joining the Rattlers to put up fresh nets in Holiday Park" said Saskatoon Mayor, Charlie Clark "to make sure that all the kids coming out to play with the weather warming up have these awesome Rattlers nets to play on"
"When you look at the Saskatchewan Rattlers they're building on initiatives and being a part of the community" said Saskatoon Tribal Chief, Mark Arcand "the investment that they are making with the community will make a huge difference and help kids have a place that they can call their own."
The Rattlers Rim Revamp will be an ongoing project with the main goal to help restore the basketball courts in the community by replacing the old nets with fresh mesh. The nets will be installed by Rattlers players, staff, volunteers, and key members of the community.
"We wanted to run a project that had both meaning and longevity for the community" said Rattlers Vice President, Brad Kraft "By adding new mesh to the hoop, it brings life back to the court and allows our next generation a space to play and grow their skills, no matter their background."
