Phoenix, Ariz. - The five time world champion Arizona Rattlers were assigned defensive end Mohammed Usman for the 2016 Arena Football League (AFL) season on Tuesday. This will be his first season with the Rattlers and in the AFL.
The 6-foot-1, 260-pound Usman attended the University of Arizona, where in his senior season he had 19 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble. Usman also attended Navarro College (Corsicana, Texas), where he lead his team in sacks (4.5).
The Arlington, Texas native was a multi-sport athlete at Bowie High School, where he earned Second-Team All-District 8-5A in both his junior and senior year. He was also a two-time, first-team All-District wrestler, ranking No. 1 in the heavyweight division.
