Rattlers announce 2007 Major League Lacrosse schedule

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Rattlers will open their 2007 Major League Lacrosse season at home against the Washington Bayhawks on Saturday, May 26th. The game ushers in the seventh season of Rattlers lacrosse and the second at PAETEC Park.
Rochester's home schedule also includes games against the New Jersey Pride, Boston Cannons, Long Island Lizards, Chicago Machine and the 2006 MLL defending champion Philadelphia Barrage. The Rattlers host the Barrage on Saturday, June 23rd at PAETEC Park. Further, Rochester will entertain Chicago for the first time in team history on Friday, July 27th.
The road schedule begins on Saturday, June 2nd, as the Rattlers travel to play the Barrage on their home turf. The road slate also includes Rochester's first showdown with the Denver Outlaws at INVESCO Field at Mile High on Saturday, June 16th. The Rattlers other road opponents are Washington, Long Island, Boston and New Jersey.
Last season, the Rattlers finished 5-7 and were tied for third place in the Eastern Conference. Rochester was led by MLL Defenseman of the Year and All-MLL Team member Brodie Merrill. On offense, John Grant finished third in the league with 49 points.
Major League Lacrosse, a 10-team professional outdoor lacrosse league, was founded in 1999 by fitness entrepreneur Jake Steinfeld, CEO of Body by Jake Global L.L.C., and founding partners Dave Morrow, a former champion lacrosse player and now CEO of Warrior Lacrosse, a leading global provider of innovative and high performance lacrosse equipment; and Timothy B. Robertson, former CEO of The Family Channel and the current chairman of Bay Shore Enterprises, L.L.C., an investment holding company with activities in international media and Internet technology ventures.
The MLL commenced play in June of 2001 and is comprised of two conferences. The Eastern Conference contains the original six teams, Baltimore, Boston, Long Island, (Montclair) New Jersey, Philadelphia and Rochester. The Western Conference features franchises in Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Additional league information can be found at www.majorleaguelacrosse.com.
