Chicago Machine Announces 2007 Schedule

Chicago, IL (January 9, 2007) - The Chicago Machine - Chicago's Major League Lacrosse team - announced the schedule today for the 2007 season. The Machine will begin the season at home on Saturday, May 19, 2007 when they play for the first time at their new home venue - TOYOTA PARK - and take on the Los Angeles Riptide. The game will commence at 7:00PM.
Currently, all Chicago Machine home games are scheduled to take place on Saturday evenings beginning at 7:00PM. In the event the Chicago Fire (MLS) has a schedule conflict on that Saturday, the Chicago Machine will move that weekend's game to Sunday afternoon at 2:00PM. Each of the host weekends is set and will not change.
The first three games of the season will take place on the Machine's home turf - TOYOTA PARK - where they will compete against the other three Western Conference teams - Los Angeles, Denver, and San Francisco.
The Machine's first away game will be on Saturday, June 16th when the Machine takes on the New Jersey Pride at Yurcak Field of Rutgers University.
The Warrior Major League Challenge and MLL Draft will occur after week three (May 30th).
One MLL schedule highlight includes the Chicago Machine playing the Denver Outlaws at Invesco Field in Denver on the Fourth of July. Last season, the Outlaws set the MLL attendance record (15,981) when they played on July 1st, 2006. Fireworks will be an entertainment highlight for the July 4th game.
The Machine will finish off the regular season at the Home Depot Center on Saturday, August 11, 2007 when they compete against the Los Angeles Riptide.
The MLL Championship Weekend will conclude the 2007 season on the weekend of August 25th-27th.
Training camp begins for the Machine on Saturday, April 21st when the Chicago Machine hosts an open try-out. Official Training Camp begins the following weekend on April 28th.
