
Rattlers Add DL Borel, OL Simons

Phoenix, Ariz. - The five time world champion Arizona Rattlers were assigned offensive lineman Michael Simons and defensive end Damien Borel for the 2016 Arena Football League (AFL) season on Wednesday.
Damien Borel (6-4, 290, Butte College) was picked up by the San Jose SaberCats mid-season in 2015. While there, he earned nine tackles and two sacks.
Borel attended Butte College, where he tallied 69 tackles, along with 19 sacks for the Roadrunners which ranked first in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) in 2012, which earned him All-American honors as well as being named the California Defensive Player of the Year.
Michael Simons (6-4, 290, Central Connecticut State) was a two year starter for the Orlando Predators. While there he also played fullback, rushing for 19 touchdowns and 224 yards in two seasons.
Simons attended Central Connecticut State where he played offensive tackle in two seasons for the Blue Devils.
