Rats Add Pre-Season Game

Albany N.Y. - The Albany River Rats announced today that the club has added a pre-season contest against the defending Calder Cup Champion Philadelphia Phantoms on Sunday, September 18, 2005. The two teams will kick off the American Hockey League's pre-season slate in a 1:00pm face-off from Codey Arena in West Orange, N.J.

The River Rats will also skate the Phantoms on Tuesday, September 20th at South Mountain Arena in West Orange, N.J. at 2:00pm. The three game set with Philadelphia conclude on Thursday, September 29th at the Sovereign Bank Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, N.J. in a 1:35pm face-off. The River Rats close out their pre-season against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in Shelton, C.T. at 7:00pm on October 1st.

Albany kicks off the 2005-06 regular season on Friday, October 8, 2005 in a 7:30pm road match-up against the Syracuse Crunch. The River Rats open the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, October 15, 2005 in a special 1:00pm face-off against the Phantoms.

The Albany River Rats, who begin their 13th season as a member of the American Hockey League this October, are owned and operated by Capital District Sports Inc., and serve as the primary affiliate of the National Hockey League's New Jersey Devils.
