Rascals Homestand Continues Tonight
May 29, 2003 - Frontier League (FL)
River City Rascals News Release
James Molinari belted two homers and Michael Conner added his 2nd homer of the season, but the Mid-Missouri Mavericks still came away with a 9-6 win last night at Hughes Ballpark before a big crowd of 5,265.
The Rascals led 3-0 after the 1st inning following Molinari's 1st homer and back to back errors that scored Adonis Smith and Brody Jackson. Molinari's 2nd homer came in the 9th inning.
The Mavericks bounced back in the 2nd with a single run and then exploded for six runs in the 3rd inning off of losing pitcher Greg Modica (1-1). However, only one run was earned as Smith made two errors in the inning. Adam Rittenhouse and Bill Greenwell both homered in the 3rd inning for the Mavericks.
Grant Dorn (1-0) tossed 5 innings for the win, but John Turrell was the story on the mound for the Mavericks as he struck out six of the seven hitters he faced.
