River City Rascals News Release
Marion, Ill. - River City got seven shutout innings from Josh Lowey and the offense blasted two homeruns as the Rascals picked up their second-straight win against the Miners, and just their ninth regular season win at Rent One Park, by a final of 7-0. Lowey (5-2) was staked to a 2-0 lead before he took the mound and River City (34-14) stretched the lead to 4-0 on Stephen Holdren's 12th homerun in the third. All four of Holdren's hits at Rent One Ballpark have been homeruns this season (12 RBIs). Lowey gave up four hits while walking two and striking out six in his seven innings. Sean Toler and Dustin Umberger pitched scoreless frames in the eigth and ninth respectivly after River City stretched their lead to 7-0 with a single run in the fifth and a Joash Brodin two-run homerun in the eigth. The win increases thr Rascals lead over the Miners (31-17) to three games in the west division race. Game two of the three-game series is set for tomorrow at 4:05.
