Raptors Announce Three More Signees for '07
ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rock River Raptors of the United Indoor Football (UIF) league announced today, the signings of rookies DL Floyd Wright and RB Adrian Davis as well as the return of WR Jeremiah Thompson.
Wright comes to the Raptors from Marshall University where he played the final two years of his collegiate career. During the 2005 season, Wright recorded 34 total tackles, 19 solo, two sacks and one forced fumble. Before attending Marshall, he spent two years at Moorpark College (Calif.) where he also wrestled.
Davis joins the Raptors for his first year of pro football. Davis, who played collegiately at NIU and backed up Garrett Wolfe, got a chance to break out and prove his talent in a game against Kent State in 2005. He rushed for 252 yards on 37 carries and scored three touchdowns in the 34-3 Huskies victory. Davis finished his career at NIU with a total of 698 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
Thompson returns to the Raptors for his second season. He finished last season with a team-high 68 receptions, good for 568 yards and 14 touchdowns. Thompson played college ball at Morehouse College (Ga.) where he had 34 career receptions for 433 yards and three touchdowns.
