Rio Grande Valley Dorados News Release
Hidalgo, Texas --- The Rio Grande Valley Dorados of arenafootball2 today announced that DS Torry Joubert has been assigned to the team for the 2007 season.
A second-year pro, the 6-0, 180-pound Joubert (jho-BEAR) appeared in 14 games last season and proved to a versatile asset to the team. Offensively, he caught two TD's and rushed for another. On the defensive side of the ball, Joubert had 22 tackles, six pass breakups, and a forced fumble.
"Torry adapted to the game well as a rookie," said Dorados Head Coach Marty Hammond. "He slowly earned his playing time in a variety of situations. This season he'll play mostly a defensive role, but I know I can put him on offense if needed and not have many worries."
The Dorados kick off 2007 on the road at Corpus Christi on Saturday, April 7, and open up the home half of the season vs. Laredo on Saturday, April 14. Games at Obra Homes Field inside Dodge Arena begin at 7:30 p.m. All games will air live on Jammin' 104.9/95.3 FM.
Dorados season tickets are available now by calling 956-843-7825 or visit doradosfootball.com.
