(Davenport, IA) - The Quad City Steamwheelers announced today that the arenafootball2 league has assigned FB/LB Jeff Macrea to the team's roster.
"Jeff is a solid guy," says Head Coach Sean Ponder. "He has played fullback in this league for a long time. He has played for me for three seasons (in Wichita and San Diego) and we are glad to have him back."
Last season Macrea led the Steamwheelers in rushing touchdowns with 10. The 6-foot-1, 270 pound athlete rushed for 51 yards on 23 attempts with the squad. On defense the Hollywood, Calif., native tallied 13 total tackles, two sacks, three pass breakups, six quarterback hurries and one blocked kick. Prior to playing professional football, Macrea graduated from The University of New Mexico.
