Rapids Open Season Saturday: The Rapids will start their 12th MLS season on Saturday when they take on DC United at 1:30 p.m. MT in a nationally televised game on ABC. The game will also mark the opening of Dick's Sporting Goods Park, considered the largest professional soccer stadium & complex in the world. Many youth teams will also be playing their games on the fields surrounding the complex that morning as it marks the first day of the spring soccer season for Colorado Youth Soccer.
It's Dick's Sporting Goods Park Opening Week: All this week the Colorado soccer community and media will have a chance to help build the excitement going into Saturday's home opener, as the Rapids are hosting different events every day this week leading up to Saturday! Today at 4pm the Rapids will host their annual Kickoff Clinic with the players at the stadium. Tuesday will see the 8th Annual Rapids Foundation Charity Kickoff Luncheon from 11am to 1pm. Wednesday is the first ever Burgundy and Blue game and a Front Range Happy Hour, both the first events ever inside the stadium. Finally, Thursday, the team will be visiting North Suburban Medical Center to visit sick patients. Rapids Tie Final Preseason Match: The Rapids tied their Rocky Mountain Cup Rivals, Real Salt Lake, 0-0 on Saturday in the preseason game played at the UNLV campus in Las Vegas. Herculez Gomez had the Rapids' best scoring opportunity but his foot hit the ground before he stuck the ball. Both teams play a conservative second half to avoid injuries right before opening day.
Reserves Defeat Regis: On Sunday the Rapids Reserves took on the Regis Rangers in a 60-minute scrimmage at the Rapids practice field. Jacob Peterson scored the only goal in the 40th minute with assists from Stephen Keel and Chris Wingert. Here was the Rapids line up: Zach Thornton, Jordan Harvey, Stephen Keel, Chris Wingert (Kosuke Kimura 47), Yherland McDonald (Nico Colaluca 27), Nick LaBrocca, Kosuke Kimura (Gargan 31), Daniel Wasson, Colin Clark, Omar Cummings (John DiRaimondo 47), John DiRaimondo (Peterson 31).
Rapids Trade Mathis: Last week the Rapids made an exchange with the New York Red Bulls. Colorado sent Clint Mathis to New York in exchange for a couple of draft picks. The Rapids got a fourth rounder in the 2008 SuperDraft and a conditional pick in 2009. Mathis had been with the Rapids for one season after being brought over from Real Salt Lake.
Team Store Open: The Colorado Rapids Team Store at Dick's Sporting Goods Park officially opened for business at 10 o'clock this morning. The store has the largest selection of Rapids gear anywhere and will be open at least six days a week. It is open from 10-6 Monday-Friday, 10-3 on Saturday and open before and during games.
2007 Reserve Schedule Released: The reigning MLS Reserve Division Champion Rapids will begin defense of their title on Monday, April 16 at 10 a.m. on the Rapids' Training Field at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The complete schedule for the Rapids Reserves is as follows, home games in bold:

Newest Season Ticket Package: After single game tickets to the Aug. 26 game against Los Angeles sold out in less than 90 minutes, the Rapids announced the "Becks Flex Pack." If fans want to see one of the summer's hottest games, this is the way to go. Purchasers get the Aug. 26 game plus two others with no ticket fees.
