Rapids Pick up Three players in 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft

Denver, Colorado (Thursday, January 18, 2007) - The Colorado Rapids selected midfielder John DiRairmondo, midfielder Kosuke Kimura and forward Riley O'Neill to the team's roster during today's 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft.

DiRairmondo played last season for Saint Louis University where he was the leading scorer with five goals. He finished his career as a Billiken with 21 goals and 28 assists. This year he was named Third Team All-American and First Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region. DiRairmondo has also played for the U-17 and U-20 U.S. National Teams.

Kimura scored three goals and accumulated five assists in his senior season at Western Illinois. The Kanagawa, Japan native was named All-Mid-Continental Conference in 2005 (first team) and 2006 (second team).

O'Neill, a senior at Kentucky, led his team with 17 goals in 20 games this past season. The British Columbia native was named to the First Team All-Midwest Region and All-Conference USA in 2006.

All supplemental draft selections are expected to report to Colorado on Feb. 3 for preseason training. The Rapids open their season on April 7 when they take on D.C.
