
Rapid City's Stefanovich Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Mikhail Stefanovich of the Rapid City Rush is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Dec. 7-13.
Stefanovich scored six goals, including two game-winners, and added one assist for seven points in three games last week.
The 26-year-old had four points (3g-1a) in a 7-2 win over Wichita on Tuesday and then tallied his second straight hat trick in a 5-2 victory against Quad City on Friday. In the process, he became just the 10th ECHL?player in the last 19 seasons to record hat tricks in consecutive games.
A native of Minsk, Belarus, Stefanovich has 13 points (9g-4a) in 11 games with the Rush this season.
Selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fourth round (98th overall) of the 2008 NHL?Entry Draft, Stefanovich has 18 points (12g-6a) in 15 career ECHL games with Rapid City and Reading while also seeing action in two games with Toronto of the American?Hockey League.
Prior to returning to North America this season,?Stefanovich spent the previous four seasons in Europe.
On behalf of Mikhail Stefanovich, a case of pucks will be donated to a Rapid City youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 33,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
