Rangers Travel to Barrie Saturday for Second Half of Home-And-Home Series

Barrie, Ont. - The Rangers will wrap-up a home-and-home pre-season series with the Barrie Colts Saturday as the club travels to Saldon Arena in a re-match contest. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.

Scouting the Rangers:

Forwards Jesse Fishman and Joseph Serpa both recorded their first goals of the pre-season on Friday night which brings the Rangers tally to nine different goal scorers already this exhibition season. Defenceman Tomas Hamara (Ottawa Senators) continues to lead in helpers recording his third assist in as many games. Forward Adam Zidlicky leads the team in points this pre-season with four (3G, 1A) after recording another assist last game.

Saturday marks the first return for Rangers' Head Coach Chris Dennis to Barrie since being hired in Kitchener on June 28th, 2022. Dennis was the Associate Coach for the Colts during the 2021-22 campaign.

The Rangers will be without captain and NHL-signed prospect Francesco Pinelli who is currently in Los Angeles competing in the Kings' Development Camp.

Scouting the Colts:

Forward Declan McDonnell (Tampa Bay) continues to impress with another goal and assist in yesterday's contest bringing him to 5 points (3G, 2A) in 3 pre-season games. 2024 draft eligible and rookie Cole Beaudoin will look to continue his form after finding twine twice against the Rangers after being held pointless in his first pre-season game of the season. Cole was the 10th overall selection in the OHL entry draft in 2022.

Brandt Clarke (Los Angeles), Ethan Cardwell (San Jose Sharks), Hunter Haight (Minnesota Wild), Evan Vierling (New York Rangers), Anson Thorton (Arizona), and Artur Cholach (Las Vegas Golden Knights) round up the list of NHL Draft picks/signees on the Colts roster.

Head-to-Head:

In last year's 2021 pre-season, Kitchener won the first game 5-2 on home-ice before dropping a shootout decision 5-4 in Barrie the following weekend. In the last three regular seasons, the Rangers are an impressive 5-1-0-0 against the Colts and are 2-1-0-0 on home-ice at The Aud.

Tickets for the game in Barrie can be purchased online, by calling 1-888-655-9090, or in person at the Coltsport Store located inside Sadlon Arena. Prices range from $23.40-$29.00. Infants and toddlers two and under are free. The Colts Store is located in the West entrance of the Sadlon Arena facing Bayview Drive.

Saturday's road contest will be televised throughout Kitchener and the Waterloo Region on Rogers TV, cable channel 20, and across the province of Ontario on the Super Sports Pak, channel 463 for cable subscribers.

The Rangers are back home at the Aud to host the Mississauga Steelheads to round off their home pre-season schedule. Puck-drop will be at 4:00pm Saturday evening. Kitchener is welcoming Rangers Nation back to The Aud for the 60th anniversary. The Rangers open the 2022-23 season against the Sarnia Sting on Friday, September 30th at 7:30 p.m. Individual game tickets will go on sale Tuesday, September 6th for $25 and are available at KitchenerRangers.com.
