Rangers Stop Whalers

Kitchener ON: The Kitchener Rangers improved their unbeaten streak to 6 games with a 3-1 victory over the Plymouth Whalers before 5,907 fans at The Aud.

The first period was scoreless with the Rangers outshooting the Whalers 13-10.

Nick Spaling opened the scoring on the power play and then followed up with his second of the night and 25th of the year to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead after two periods.

Mikkel Boedker made the score to 3-0 early in the third on a slap shot from the blue line. Plymouth scored their lone goal at 12:36 to break Josh Unice's shutout bid.

Unice stopped 27, while Jeremy Smith faced 37 shots for the Whalers.

The Rangers make a northern swing this weekend playing in Saginaw Saturday and Sault Ste. Marie on Sunday.

The Rangers return to action at The Aud on Wednesday, December 5th for their Annual Teddy Bear Night.
