Rangers fall in final game before the holidays

Kitchener, ON: The Rangers headed into the holidays with a loss to the visiting Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds tonight falling 3-1.

Jason Pitton opened the scoring in the game notching his 16th goal of the season at 7:01 of the second period. Matt Auffrey tied the game with his 11th of the year at 17:16 to even the score a 1-1 after forty minutes.

In the third period Tyler Kennedy put the Greyhounds up 2-1 with his 9th goal at 15:18. The Rangers attempted to tie the game late in the period by pulling goaltender Dan Turple but Dustin Jeffrey connected into the open net to finish off the 3-1 win.

Turple took the loss in goal allowing 2 goals on 38 shots.

The Rangers next home game is Friday, December 30th against the Barrie Colts. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

Game Notes: The Greyhounds outshot the Rangers 39-34 in the game...the Rangers were 0/3 on the power play...the Greyhounds were 0/6 on the power play...Dan Turple was named the 2nd star of the game.
