
Rangers Fall 6-3 To Knights

The Kitchener Rangers fell 6-3 to the London Knights in their fifth match-up of the season.
Michael Catenacci buried a pass from Jeremy Morin to put the Rangers up 1-0 at the 4:54 mark of the first period. London scored two goals in just over two-minutes to take a 2-1 lead. Justin Taylor tipped in a Nazem Kadri shot at 12:08 followed by Steven Tarasuk's 14th goal of the season at 14:20. Morin replied on the Rangers power play to tie the score at 2-2 by the 16:36 mark. Michael MacDonald gave London a one-goal advantage with 19-seconds left in the period (3-2). Shots were 16 London -9 Kitchener in the period.
London gained a three goal lead over Kitchener before the 5:00 mark of the second period. Chris DeSousa opened up scoring in the second period to give the Knights their fourth goal and Kadri followed up with his 25th goal of the season to make it 5-2. Chris MacKinnon lessened the gap to 5-3 with a Kitchener power play goal at 13:55. The Knights outshot the Rangers 11-8 in the period.
The Knights MacDonald scored an empty net goal, his second goal of the game with 1:03 left in the game to give London a 6-3 win.
The Rangers travel North to Sudbury this Friday for a 7:30pm game against the Wolves. They travel to Barrie on Saturday to play the Colts at 7:30pm. The next home game is Friday, February 5th when the Rangers host the Oshawa Generals at 7:30pm.
