
Rangers Drop First Decision in Two Weeks Friday

Kitchener, Ont. - Both Francesco Pinelli and Carson Rehkopf recorded two points each and Marco Costantini made 39 saves on 45 shots but the Erie Otters skated away with a 6-3 victory in front of 5,730 fans at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Friday. It was the first defeat for the Rangers in two weeks coming after the Blueshirts won four consecutive games.
Finals shots favoured the Otters 45-32. All three stars in tonight's game were awarded to players on the Otters. Kitchener finished the game 1-for-7 on the power-play and a perfect 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
Next up: The Rangers will take their first trip across the border as they get set to face the Erie Otters on the back-half of a home-and-home series. Puck drop is set for 2 p.m. at the Erie Insurance Arena. Mike Farwell and Chris Pope will have the call on the radio on CityNews 570 AM CKGL. The game will also be televised live throughout the province of Ontario on the Super Sports Pak on channel 466 for cable subscribers and can be watched online on OHL Live on CHL TV.
