Kitchener Rangers News Release
For the third season the Kitchener Rangers and the Guelph Storm are facing off to save lives! Tuesday, September 7th will mark the start of the Rangers vs. Storm Blood Donor Challenge.
The Challenge is a friendly competition that encourages the teams' staff, players, sponsors and fans to donate blood at their local Canadian Blood Services donor clinic. This season the two teams pledge 1,000 units of blood and are in contention to see who can get the most new blood donors into local clinics.
Long time donor and NHL Referee Alumnus and Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Andy Van Hellemond will participate in a special red puck drop with Spott and Brooks to kick off this neighbourly rival. Both Spott and Brooks will then donate blood together as part of the official start to the battle.
