Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
Rancho Cucamonga, CA - A three-run eighth for Inland Empire pushed the 66ers to an 8-5 victory over the Quakes on Friday night at LoanMart Field.
Adrian Placencia's RBI single broke a 5-5 tie against reliever Huei-Sheng Lin (1-2), as the 66ers took the lead for good and won for the third time in four games in the current series.
Rancho's Yunior Garcia had a massive night, with three hits and four RBIs, helping the Quakes overcome an early deficit.
Garcia's tenth homer of the year, a two-run shot in the first, tied the game at 2-2 after one.
In the third, Garcia's two-out two-run double gave the Quakes their first lead over starter Jack Kochanowicz, at 4-3.
Newcomer Sean McLain cracked his first professional home run in the fourth, as the Quakes built a two-run lead at 5-3.
It was all 66ers from there, as they tied the game against Joel Ibarra with two in the sixth. They took the lead for good in the eighth and then Dayan Reinoso retired all six batters he faced over the final two innings to earn his seventh save.
Inland Empire reliever Max Gieg (1-0) got his first pro win with a scoreless seventh inning.
Saturday will see the Quakes go with Peter Heubeck (0-0), as he takes on Inland Empire's Chase Chaney (3-3). Gates open at 5:30pm and game time is 6:30pm. We hope to see you at LoanMart Field...Go Quakes!
