PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The Rockford Rampage offense came to life Saturday, but the Philadelphia KiXX held the scoring edge, topping Rockford, 23-20, during the KiXX's Major Indoor Soccer League home opener at the Liacouras Center.
The Rampage drop to 3-3 and the KiXX improve to 2-5. Both of Philadelphia's victories this season have come against Rockford. The two teams square off again at 5:05 p.m. Sunday when the Rampage host the KiXX at the MetroCentre.
Rockford held a 16-12 lead early in the third quarter on Saturday, but Philadelphia's Adauto Neto scored four unanswered goals (three in the third quarter) and never looked back.
The Rampage's Semir Mesanovic had two first-half goals. Rockford's Chris Brisson, Geison Moura, Gary Brooks, Eric Lukin, Roberto Gallo, Fred Degand, Matthew Stewart and Jamar Beasley each had a goal. Rampage goalkeeper Danny Waltman made 14 saves, while former Rockford goalkeeper and KiXX net minder Sanaldo made a whopping 33 saves.
