Philadelphia KiXX News Release

Philadelphia (Saturday, January 9, 2010) - The Philadelphia KiXX will make its long anticipated home debut tonight when the team hosts the Rockford Rampage at the Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University. Kickoff for the critical midseason match-up is 7:05 p.m., and the game will be the historical first home contest for the KiXX at the Liacouras Center after spending 13 seasons at the Wachovia Spectrum.

"We have very loyal and supportive fans, and I hope that we can make them proud in our home opener tonight," KiXX head coach Don D'Ambra stated. "The Liacouras Center is a very nice building, and our fans will help us feel at home in our first game in the new venue."

While the advantage of a home crowd is something that will benefit the KiXX tonight, D'Ambra knows that it will take a bit of an adjustment for the team to feel out their new home.

"It will be nice to play in front of a home crowd. However, we are playing in a new venue that is different to where we are used to playing," he said. "The field size at the Liacouras Center is smaller than the Spectrum, which will be the biggest adjustment. Nevertheless, it will still feel good to be home playing in Philadelphia."

The last time these two teams hooked up, the KiXX rolled to a 20-6 road victory in a game that saw goalkeeper Sanaldo record 33 saves and forward Leo Gibson tally a season-high four goals. Tonight is the first game in a home-and-home weekend series between these two clubs, with the KiXX heading to Rockford on Sunday to play the Rampage at 6:05 p.m.

Tickets for tonight's match are still available now by logging onto www.ComcastTix.com. The Liacouras Center box office is open all day today, and doors will open tonight at 6:05 p.m.
