Rampage Get Back On Track, Defeat Piasa 8-1

After dropping two in a row, the Rockford Rampage got back on the winning side of the ledger Saturday night, as they defeated their in-state rivals, the Illinois Piasa 8-1 at the Victory Sports Center.

The Rampage (6-5) took a 5-0 lead into the halftime, and didn't look back. The Piasa (pronouced Pie-A-Saw), scored a goal midway through the third quarter, but the Rampage scored the final three goals for the easy victory.

Semir Mesanovic led the scoring for the good guys with a hat trick. Victor Sanchez added two goals, and Elvir Kafedzic, Bojan Jovicic, and Jose Sanchez chipped in one tally each.

Ante "Chopper" took the win in goal, making 11 saves on 21 shots.

The Rampage are currently tied for third place in the PASL's Central Division with the Rio Grande Valley Flash, three and a half games behind the division leading Dallas Sidekicks.

The Rampage will continue their seven game home stand on January 19th, when they will host their Tollway Rivals, the Chicago Mustangs at the Victory Sports Complex (7003 North Alpine Rd in Loves Park).Kickoff for that game will be at 8:05PM.
