Grand Rapids Rampage News Release

The Grand Rapids Rampage traded future considerations to the expansion Nashville Kats for the 16th and 17th selections in the expansion draft. With the first pick, the Rampage took Philadelphia Soul WR/DB Terrell Adams and with the other they picked up San Jose defensive specialist Trayvon Waller.

Adams (5'08" 178 lbs. Mississippi Valley State) played in four total games with the Soul while battling through injuries. He grabbed six passes for 70 yards and added 4.5 tackles. In 2003, he starred for the af2's Memphis Xplorers, where he caught 93 balls for 1,081 yards and 27 scores. He also added 27 kickoff returns for 639 yards with two more TDs. Adams was Mississippi Valley State's leading receiver in 2001 with 66 catches for 615 yards and five scores. There he was named the 2000 Black College Academic Athlete of the Year and earned All-SWAC honors in 2000 and 2001.

Waller (6'02" 180 lbs. Illinois) was active for regular season six games last season with the ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats but did not record any stats being behind All-Arena first team DS Omarr Smith. Prior to his time with the SaberCats, he played in the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton TigerCats and was in the 2001 New Orleans Saints training camp. Played cornerback for two seasons at the University of Illinois after transferring from El Camino College where he was a two-time All-Mission Conference selection.

The Rampage will hold a press conference this Friday morning at 10:00am at the Soccer Spot in Kentwood to announce at least three players that will sign free agent contracts with the team on the first day of free agency.
