Ramos, Seaton to Join Skeeters Hot Stove Banquet

On Thursday, January 30, the Sugar Land Skeeters will hold the Second Annual Skeeters Hot Stove Banquet from 6 - 9 p.m. in the Insperity Club at Constellation Field, sponsored by Aztec and Any Occasion Party Rentals and Pamela Printing.

The Skeeters' 2013 Community Man of the Year Dominic Ramos and Astros minor league pitcher Ross Seaton will join Skeeters Manager Gary Gaetti and the legendary Jimmy Wynn for the 2014 baseball panel, led by sports broadcaster Brett Dolan. Ramos, an Austin-area native and former Texas State University standout, helped Sugar Land to its first-ever Atlantic League playoff berth last year while Seaton, a third-round draft pick of the Astros in 2008 out of Houston's Second Baptist School, split the 2013 season between Triple A Oklahoma City and Double A Corpus Christi.

The organization will also recognize the annual introduction of the 16-member All-Greater Houston Preseason High School Baseball Team, as selected by the Houston Area Baseball Coaches Association. The HABCA has also named Cypress Ranch High School Head Baseball Coach John Pope as the recipient of the 2014 Ray Knoblauch Coaching Award, presented by KPRC Local 2 Sports Director Randy McIlvoy.

The 2014 HABCA All-Greater Houston Preseason High School Baseball Team honorees include: Dakota Brewton, Brenham High School; Tucker Cascadden, Lamar High School; Matt Collins, Memorial High School; Kaleb Denny, Barbers Hill High School; Aaron Fletcher, Langham Creek High School; Reid Garrett, Foster High School; Stone Garrett, George Ranch High School; Jaylen Hubbard, Dulles High School; Travis Jones, Atascocita High School; Corbin Martin, Cypress Ranch High School; Michael Rodgers, St. Thomas High School; Ricky Salinas, North Shore Senior High School; Luke Sherley, The Woodlands High School; John Henry Styles, Episcopal High School; Trey Supak, La Grange High School; Connor Wong, Pearland High School.

Individual tickets for the dinner may be purchased for $75. Tables of 10 are also available for the dinner, listed at $750.
