Ramirez Makes 34 Saves, Jr. Hat Tricks Fall in New Jersey

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - Despite 34 saves from goaltender Marino Ramirez, the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (10-37-3-0, 23 pts) fell 4-1 to the New Jersey Titans (39,12-2-0, 80 pts) on Wednesday night.
Ramirez faced 18 shots in the first period against New Jersey, making 16 saves in the opening frame.
The Hat Tricks netminder faced much less pressure in the second period, saving all eight shots he faced, but Danbury could not beat Andrew Takacs in the New Jersey goal.
Early in the third, New Jersey extended its lead to 3-0, but Jr. Hat Tricks defenseman Matt Danziger answered just a few minutes later. Danziger's second of the season was assisted by Miles Harrington (9) and Liam Varmecky. The assist was the first point of Varmecky's NAHL career.
After forcing the game within two goals, the Hat Tricks couldn't find the tying goal and New Jersey scored after Ramirez went to the bench for an extra attacker.
The Hat Tricks are back in action on Friday when they return home against Northeast to start a stretch with six-of-seven games at home.
