Windsor Spitfires News Release
(Windsor, ON) - The third season of our Raise Your Hands program was a big success.
Twenty-four schools from WECDSB, GECDSB and CSC school boards participated, accounting for 2,500 tickets sold and $13,000 being donated back into Windsor and Essex County schools.
Spitfires corporate accounts executive, Matt Haddad, says interest for Raise Your Hands has grown every year.
"It's been very well received by school principles, PAC members, teachers and families within Windsor and Essex County," Haddad told WindsorSpitfires.com. "Each year we take feedback from the schools and make improvements. This year we added new prizes for students and teachers."
Haddad would like to give a special thanks to our three most successful schools: Pavillon des Jeunes, St. John Vianney and George P. Vanier.
Honourable mention goes out to Queen Victoria and John Campbell Public School, which both had two Spitfire event nights.
Raise Your Hands gives schools the opportunity to sell tickets to a Spitfires game, with a portion of the ticket price going back to schools in the form of a donation cheque.
Haddad says the future of Raise Your Hands is bright.
"We have high hopes that the program can grow next year as the Spits bid to host the Memorial Cup," said Haddad. "We want to share that excitement with our fans and the great schools that have shown continued support."
