(HALIFAX, NS) On Saturday afternoon the Rainmen began their Ontario road-trip, looking to move above .500 on the season with a win over the Oshawa Power. A complete team effort helped the Rainmen squeak out a 105-104 win in a game that was close from buzzer to buzzer.

The Rainmen started the game hot, as Brandon Robinson's 10 points in the first quarter helped the Rainmen take a 33-23 lead. Oshawa began the second quarter with a 9-2 run, forcing Coach Spon to take a time-out, and continued to battle throughout the 2nd, led by Power's Bo Harris who led all players with 14 first half points. At half-time the Rainmen trailed the Power 56-54. Forward Hillary Haley came off the bench and had a huge 3rd quarter for the Rainmen, and the Rainmen took an 85-84 lead going into the final quarter. Halfway through the fourth quarter the Power tied the score at 92. The Rainmen were able to hold on for a 105-104 win and improved to 5-4 on the season. The Rainmen had 6 6 players in double figures, led by forward Hillary Haley who had 18 points and 3 rebounds off the bench.

All five Rainmen starters scored in double figures, as Brandon Robinson had 17 points, followed by, Antoine Tisby 17, Joey Haywood 16, Josiah Turner 12 points, and Quinnel Brown finished with 11 points and 7 rebounds. The Power were led by former Halifax Rainmen guard Papa Oppong who had 19 points and 9 rebounds off the bench. Power forward William "Bo" Harris also had 19, Mark Gomillia 18, Amani Daanish 17 and 6 rebounds and Jushay Rockett finished with a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. The Rainmen shot a season high 53% from the field and over 42% from beyond the three point arc. They also won the turnover battle, forcing 21 while committing only 13 of their own. The Rainmen are on a 3 game winning streak and now 3-0 under the helm of Coach Rob Spon.
