Mill Rats Crush Montreal Jazz in Fourth Quarter Action

(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats, presented by Rogers, turned up the heat and crushed the Montreal Jazz in fourth quarter action, ending the game with a final score of 99-79 in front of 1876 fans at Harbour Station Saturday night!
The Mill Rats opened up the game with a three pointer from Jerice Crouch, followed by a layup from leading scorer Anthony Anderson. With 6 minutes left in the first, the Jazz were able to tie the game after Micah Brand fouled San Ibrahim. The Jazz closed the first leading 21-24.
After 2 points from PJ Young and Cavell Johnson, the Mill Rats were able to pull ahead 32-31 with 7:45 on the clock before half. Both teams went basket for basket but close to the end of the half, the Jazz still lead 48-53.
Anderson opened up the third strong, scoring the first basket. The Mill Rats pushed hard in the third chipping away at the Jazz's lead. Four minutes into the third, a great pass from Anderson to Young under the basket, gave the Mill Rats the lead they needed, 58-55 over the Jazz. Montreal fought back and maintained a 3 point lead closing the third 68-71.
The last quarter the Mill Rats turned up the head, outscoring the Jazz 31-8. Some great baskets from Anthony Anderson, Melvin Council and Steve Deluca helped maintain the team's momentum in the fourth and their 20 point lead.
Final score for the Mill Rats was 99-79.
Leading scorers for the Mill Rats were Anthony Anderson with 24 points while Jerice Crouch and Melvin Council each added 15. Crouch added 7 assists while PJ Young had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Jazz were led by Terance Licorish with 17 and former Mill Rat from last season, Sani Ibrahim who took home 15 points.
The Mill Rats rise to 4-6 on the season while the Jazz fall to 0-8.
