Sacramento River Cats News Release

West Sacramento, Calif. - The Tacoma Rainiers came from behind for the second consecutive night, defeating the Sacramento River Cats 7-5 on Saturday night in front of a Raley Field crowd of 12,948. Matt Tuiasosopo continued a tear against the River Cats, breaking a ninth-inning tie with a two-run double off Sacramento reliever Chris Gissell. Tuiasosopo tied the game at 5-5 in the seventh inning with a two-out, three-run homer off Brad Knox. It was Tuiasosopo's second home run in as many days, and just his third of the season in 51 games for Tacoma. It was the second consecutive game the River Cats lost when leading after five innings, something that has only happened five times now all season. Sacramento is now 32-5 when leading after five innings. Both Sacramento infielder Jeff Baisley and outfielder Danny Putnam hit home runs for the River Cats in the second inning. Tacoma outfielder and former River Cat Shawn Garrett was 1-for-4, extending a road hitting streak to 15 games. Left-hander Dallas Braden started for Sacramento, allowing no runs and striking out seven in 3.1 innings on a light pitch count.
