Austen Returns from Disabled List, Castillo Reassigned to Orem

SALT LAKE CITY (June 14, 2008) - The Salt Lake Bees announced today that pitcher David Austen has been activated from the disabled list and outfielder Angel Castillo has been reassigned to the Orem Owlz.

Austen, 27, was placed on the disabled list on May 26 with a left knee strain. He has appeared in five games for the Bees in 2008, owning a 1-1 record with a 3.80 ERA. In five games for the double-A Arkansas Travelers this season, Austen has a 0-1 record with a 4.61 ERA. The St. Petersburg, Fla. native was originally selected by the Angels in the 15th round of the 2003 draft.

Castillo, 19, joined the Bees from extended spring training on June 10 but not did play in a game for Salt Lake. The Caracas, Venezuela native hit .252 in 31 games for the Tempe Angels of the Arizona Summer League last season with four doubles, one triple, four home runs and 23 RBI.
