
Rainiers Bats Come Alive In 8-4 Victory Over Isotopes

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Tacoma Rainiers (46-42) collected 14 base knocks, seven of which went for extra bases, in an 8-4 victory over the Albuquerque Isotopes (44-43) on Friday night at Isotopes Park.
Designated hitter Daniel Vogelbach led the way for the Rainiers on offense, finishing the night 3-for-5 with three runs scored, one double, one home run, and two RBI. He fell just a triple shy of the cycle.
First baseman Gordon Beckham (2x5, 2 R, 2B, HR, RBI), right fielder Andrew Aplin (2x5), left fielder Cameron Perkins (2x5, R), and shortstop Zach Vincej (2x4, R, 3B, 2 RBI) all registered multi-hit performances.
Tacoma starting pitcher Williams Perez (2-0) worked five innings for the Rainiers and allowed three runs on six hits while walking two and striking out a season-high eight batters. He earned the win, his second of the season with Tacoma.
After resting yesterday courtesy of a complete game effort from Ross Detwiler the Rainiers bullpen went to work on Friday night, sending five players into the game. Ryan Garton (1.0 IP), Daniel Schlereth (0.2 IP), Ryan Cook (0.2 IP), and Shawn Armstrong (1.0 IP) all logged scoreless outings.
Tacoma right-hander Casey Lawrence (6-3, 2.93) and Albuquerque southpaw Sam Howard (3-6, 5.81) will square off as the series continues on Saturday night at 5:35 p.m. PT.
