Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers continue their series against the Round Rock Express at 7:05 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Fireworks, presented by True Sky Credit Union, are scheduled to follow the game...The Dodgers are 2-10 in their last 12 games overall and have lost eight straight home games for the first time since losing a team-record nine straight June 15-27, 2005.
Last Game: Round Rock scored all of its runs with two outs, including four runs in the second inning, in a 7-3 win against the Dodgers Thursday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Round Rock grabbed the game's first lead in the second inning. With two outs, Nick Noonan hit a grounder up the middle for a two-run, two-out single. Hanser Alberto followed with a two-run homer for a 4-0 Express lead. The Dodgers got on the scoreboard in the fourth inning, when Kyle Garlick hit the first pitch onto the concourse beyond the Dodgers bullpen in left-center field for his team-leading 11th homer of the season. Round Rock added to the lead with two outs in the sixth when Breyvic Valera committed a fielding error. Alberto delivered a RBI single to boost Round Rock's lead to 6-1 in the eighth. In the bottom of the inning, Alex Verdugo's RBI single cut the Express lead to 6-2. Each team scored again in the ninth inning, with Travis Taijeron hitting a RBI double to finish the scoring. Rehabbing Texas Rangers pitcher Martin Pérez held the Dodgers to one run on six hits over 6.1 innings. He earned the win, recording six strikeouts and no walks. Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Pill (2-3) was charged with the loss.
Today's Probable Pitcher: Brock Stewart (1-0) returns to the mound for his ninth start with OKC tonight...Stewart pitched a season-high six shutout innings July 1 at New Orleans, allowing six hits and no walks while recording three strikeouts. He exited the game in a scoreless tie before OKC went on to lose, 2-1. It was his longest scoreless start since May 11, 2016 with Double-A Tulsa against Arkansas (7.0 IP)...Stewart has been recalled by the Los Angeles Dodgers six times throughout the season and subsequently optioned to OKC six times...While with OKC this season, Stewart owns a 1.14 WHIP and has held opponents to a .234 batting average, including 9-for-46 with runners on (.196) and 3-for-26 with RISP (.115)...Stewart split last season between LAD and OKC while battling injury. With OKC, he went 0-1 with a 3.12 ERA over five starts with 25 K's and three walks...In 17 games (four starts) with LAD, Stewart posted a 3.41 ERA with 29 K's and 19 walks over 34.1 IP...Stewart advanced quickly through the Dodgers system in 2016, starting the season in High-A and ascending to the Majors to make his debut June 29 at Milwaukee. He was named the Dodgers' 2016 Branch Rickey Minor League Pitcher of the Year and to Baseball America's Minor League All-Star Team...Tonight is his second start of the season and fourth career start against the Express (1-0, 3.00 ERA). On April 18 at Dell Diamond, Stewart allowed two runs on three hits over 5.2 IP with one walk and three strikeouts in a no decision.

The Dodgers and Express meet for their third series of the season, and second at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark...The teams last met April 17-20 in Round Rock, with the Dodgers winning the road series, 3-1. Their lone loss to the Express this season came in 10 innings April 18 and the Dodgers won the final two games of the series...The Dodgers swept Round Rock, 3-0, at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark April 10-12 to open the home portion of their schedule. The Dodgers outscored the Express, 30-9, and outhit Round Rock, 38-18. The Dodgers batted .358, while holding the Express to a .188 average...Tim Locastro led OKC with eight hits through the first seven games, while Alex Verdugo had eight RBI. Rob Segedin has homered twice against the Express...The Dodgers won the 2017 head-to-head series, 9-6, and have won three straight season series against Round Rock.
Home-Less: The Dodgers have lost eight straight home games for the first time since dropping nine straight June 15-27, 2005 - the team's longest home losing skid since rejoining the PCL in 1998. This is just the third time since Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark opened the team has lost at least eight straight at home...The Dodgers started the season 15-0 at home but are 12-15 since. They have also gone 4-10 over their last 14 home games following a 23-5 start...Over the current eight-game home losing skid, the team is batting .266 (72x271) with 31 runs (3.9 per game). Prior to the recent struggles, the team was batting .315 and averaging 6.03 runs per game...The pitching staff has also struggled, posting a 5.74 ERA (44 ER/69.0 IP) and 1.77 WHIP, with 49 runs, 91 hits, 31 walks and 63 strikeouts. Opponents are batting .320 (91x284), including .263 with RISP (26x99). The opponent has tallied at least five runs six times and at least 10 hits six times. The troubles have been even more pronounced over the last three games, with the pitching staff surrendering 25 runs (23 ER) and 39 hits (39x118), with 17 additional walks (7.67 ERA, 2.08 WHIP).
Teach Me How to Dugie: Alex Verdugo connected on a RBI single in the eighth inning last night and is now 11-for-20 over his last five games, with four multi-hit outings. His .350 season batting average is tied with Salt Lake's David Fletcher for tops in the PCL...Verdugo has racked up 27 hits over his last 18 games and leads the team with 23 multi-hit games this season. Verdugo also paces the Dodgers with 79 hits despite playing in just 57 of the team's 82 games...The 22-year-old has hit seven homers this season with the Dodgers. In 2017, Verdugo only hit six homers in 117 games with OKC.
Farm to Plate: Kyle Farmer did not play yesterday, but over his last 12 games, he's batting .354 (17x48). He has six multi-hit outings during the stretch -- more than half of his season total with OKC - and has four multi-hit outings in his last eight games.
Daddy's Home: In his first game since returning from paternity leave, Travis Taijeron went 3-for-4 last night, connecting on three doubles with a RBI. It was Taijeron's second career game with three doubles and his first since May 27, 2012 with Low-A Savannah at Augusta. It was also the first time an OKC player collected three doubles in a game since Domingo Santana on April 12, 2014 vs. New Orleans...Taijeron now has six games this season with three or more hits, which is tied for second-most on the team...He has hit safely in eight of his last nine games, going 11-for-34 (.324) with five extra-base hits and four RBI.
The Struggle is Real: Following a 5-3 win over Las Vegas on June 17, the Dodgers stood a season-best 17 games above .500 with a 41-24 record. Since then, they have proceeded to go 4-13, including 2-10 over the last 12 games. Entering June 18 they were 6.0 games ahead of Colorado Springs, but are now 1.0 game out of first place -- just the fourth day this season they have been that much out of first place...During the 17-game stretch, the pitching staff has posted a 5.27 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and opponents are batting .301 while scoring five-plus runs in 10 games (90 runs total). The starting rotation has given up 46 runs and 74 hits over 60.1 IP during the last 13 games, with five starts of 4.0 or fewer innings...Prior to June 18, the team had a +89 run differential for the season, but it is -24 over the last 17 games.
