Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release
Moosic, Pa. - Pretty soon, the boys will be back in town. After a heavy road schedule in the month of May, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) will return to PNC Field to open up a stretch that will see the RailRiders at home for six out of eight games.
The RailRiders will return from an eight-game road trip and welcome in the Syracuse Chiefs (Washington Nationals) for a brief two-game series on Tuesday, June 4. Fans can get a great deal on NEPA Honda Homer Zone tickets with a two-for-one Tuesday, buy-one-get-one-free offer. With the summer months comes a new weekday start-time as well, as first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
The short series with the Chiefs concludes on Wednesday, June 5. Parents can bring their kids to the ballpark and not worry about the price at the concession stand, as kids eat free each and every Wednesday at PNC Field thanks to Minooka Subaru. The game will also be broadcasted live on MyNetwork TV with John Sadak and Bob Ide on the call. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., with gates opening at 6 p.m.
After a brief jaunt to Syracuse, the RailRiders will open up a four-game series at PNC Field against the Buffalo Bisons (Toronto Blue Jays) on Saturday, June 8. The Allied Services Pediatric Program Auction will be held at PNC Field prior to the contest at 1 p.m. and that night the RailRiders will wear jerseys that commemorate Autism Awareness Night. In addition to the great items available in the Allied Auction, fans can bid on the jerseys worn by SWB in the game. The first 1,000 kids 12 and under through the gates will receive a free porcupine mini-pillow pet presented by Montage Mountain and a pre-game band will entertain fans in the entrance plaza. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. and the game will be televised live on MyNetworkTV with Sadak and Ide once again donning the headsets.
Another NEPA Honda Family FUNday will welcome fans to PNC Field on Sunday, June 9. The plaza will have a carnival-like atmosphere with face painters and other entertaining acts. Fans can make their way down the third-base concourse to get an autograph from a pair of SWB players prior to the start of the game, and kids can run the bases after the game. It will be Camp Day at the ballpark. Gates open at noon, with first pitch scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
On Monday, June 10, the RailRiders will play game three of their series with Buffalo on Youth Softball Night. Teams from all over NEPA will be in attendance. Fans can save money at the concession stands at PNC Field thanks to dollar dog night with $1 hot dogs all night long. Gates will open at 6 p.m. with game action getting underway at 7:05 p.m.
SWB will wrap up its four-game series with Buffalo on Tuesday, June 11. It will be another two-for-one Tuesday at PNC Field with a NEPA Honda Homer Zone ticket free for each one purchased. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., with gates opening at 6 p.m.
