
RailRiders Beat Dutchman as Patishall Throws a Gem

In a game that took just 2 hours and change to complete, the RailRiders were able to defeat the Albany Dutchman by a score of 4-0 on Wednesday night.
Mitch Patishall (University of Cincinnati) threw a complete game shutout to improve his record 4-2 on the season. He gave up just 4 hits and struck out 12 Dutchman as Victor now moves to 15-13 on the year.
The RailRiders struck first in the bottom of the second inning after Evan Fernandez (Jacksonville University) reached on a fielder's choice. He promptly stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a passed ball to put the Riders up 1-0.
Victor would score once more in the 5th without even recording a hit. Dale Wickham (Cornell University) was hit by a pitch, moved to second after a bunt, went to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a Brady Acker (George Mason University) Sac Fly.
The RailRiders scored their final 2 runs of the game in the bottom of the 6th. Evan Fernandez led off the inning with a solo home run to left field and Matt Fallon (Black Hawk College) scored on a wild pitch later in the inning after reaching on a hit by pitch.
Fallon had the only multi hit game for the Riders in this one, going 2-3 with a run scored.
The RailRiders return home on Sunday when they take on the Saugerties Stallions in a doubleheader at Victor High School. This will be the first time the two teams have met up since June 4th, when the RailRiders won in their first ever game by a score of 5-4.
