ATLANTA, GA - The Carolina RailHawks (3-5-4, 14 pts.) traveled to Atlanta where they defeated the Silverbacks (1-5-6, 8 pts.) 2-0 to extend their NASL win-streak to 3 matches. Forward Zack Schilawski scored in the first half and his replacement Brian Ackley extended the lead late in the second half to secure the three points for Carolina.

"Today we earned a valuable 3 points. We had a strong showing defensively with the shutout and finished the opportunities in front of the goal," said Head Coach Colin Clarke. "It was great to have the support of our fans in Atlanta and it certainly plays a big role motivating our guys."

The RailHawks showed in the first half much of the offensive plays that have earned 5 wins in the last 6 matches with Austin Da Luz providing fantastic passes to open up the field and find teammates. Cory Elenio and Kupono Low made several runs to serve dangerous crosses.

Both teams generated chances but it was the former Wake Forest duo of Schilawski and Da Luz that would open up the game for the RailHawks. Da Luz served a great ball to Schilawski in the box who one-touched it over the keeper. It was his second goal of the NASL season as well as the second assist for Da Luz.

The second half featured both teams on the offensive with several good scoring chances for the RailHawks. Ty Shipalane, after several chances to score, was able to assist Ackley in the 86th minute to seal the match and the win for Carolina. Ray Burse, who had a great outing, earned his second shutout of the season, making 3 key saves in the second half.

The RailHawks will return to action at WakeMed Soccer Park on June 23rd when FC Edmonton comes to town. Tickets for the match are available online at www.CarolinaRailHawks.com .
