Cary, NC (Saturday, July 19, 2008) - The Carolina RailHawks welcome Mexico's First Division stalwarts Rayados de Monterrey in an International exhibition match on Sunday, July 20 at 4:00 p.m. at WakeMed Soccer Park. The match is presented by Fútbol Tecate and sponsored by Cricket, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, NC Rail and Golden Corral. Tickets ($10, $25, $35, $50 and $100) are still available at the LGFCU Box Office, by calling 919-859-KICK, at all Ticketmaster outlets or by visiting www.carolinarailhawks.com.

"We're very excited to host a quality side such as Monterrey," said RailHawks Head Coach Scott Schweitzer. "It allows us to be ambassadors of the sport in our respective countries and it will be a great show for fans of both teams."

This is the second exhibition this season for the RailHawks and also the second time in as many years that Carolina hosts a Mexican First Division team. On July 25, 2007, the RailHawks hosted Cruz Azul to a sold out crowd of over 8,500 fans. The RailHawks are expecting another sell-out for this match with fans coming from as far as Florida and Virginia to catch a glimpse of Mexican International forward Jared Borgetti and Chilean superstar Humberto Suazo.

"We are very grateful to the RailHawks and to Tecate for organizing this match," said Monterrey President Jorge Urdiales. "We really like the facility and look forward to the match. We hope to be able to return the favor in Monterrey."

Club Fútbol de Monterrey, also known as los Rayados after the striped jersey they wear, is one of the most famous soccer clubs in Mexico. They are at the tail end of their preseason in preparation for the 2008 Apertura Tournament. This will be their fourth preseason match and they are currently 0-2-1 having lost to Pumas and Indios in 1-0 contests and tied Morelia 2-2 in Fresno last week. They begin their season on July 27 against Puebla. Monterrey is coached by Ricardo Antonio La Volpe who was also head coach of Mexico's National team from 2002 to 2006 and coached Argentina's Boca Juniors in 2007 before leading his new team to the semifinals of the 2007 Torneo Clausura.

The RailHawks will be on the road for their next two league matches as they travel to Portland on July 24 and Vancouver on July 26. They return home to host the Vancouver Whitecaps on Friday August 1 at WakeMed Soccer Park at 8:00 p.m. in the second of four nationally televised games. Tickets for this and all RailHawks events are available at the LGFCU Box Office, by calling 919-859-KICK, at all Ticketmaster outlets or by visiting www.carolinarailhawks.com.
