North Carolina FC News Release
San Antonio, TX -The Carolina RailHawks (2W-1D-2L, 7pts) suffered their second loss of 2014 to the San Antonio Scorpions (3W-0T-2L, 9pts) on Saturday night. The 3-0 loss came a week after the RaliHawks extended their home unbeaten streak to 18 matches.
Both sides had a hard time creating quality chances in the first half. In the 11th minute, RailHawks fullback Jordan Burt was high up the pitch and found himself in space about 25 yards away from goal. He decided to let one fly and struck the ball well, but the shot sailed high over Scorpions' keeper David Bingham's outstretched hand and the crossbar.
In the second half, the RailHawks went to have back-to-back chances in 69th minute, but Bingham came through with a massive save for the scorpions. Missing starting defenders Connor Tobin and Kupono Low, the RailHawks would go on to allow goals from Eric Hassli, Danny Barrera and Tomasz Zahorski in the 53rd, 59th and 77th minutes, respectively. The Scorpions would go to secure the shutout victory.
On Saturday, May 17th the RailHawks will host the 6th Annual Taste of the Triangle prior to the RailHawks match versus the Atlanta Silverbacks.
