RailHawks Match against Ft. Lauderdale Strikers Postponed to Sunday, October 9 at 1 p.m.

CARY, NC - The North American Soccer League (NASL) announced today that the match between the RailHawks and the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers, scheduled for Saturday, October 8 at WakeMed Soccer Park, has been postponed to Sunday, October 9 at 1 p.m. ET

Weather and travel concerns related to Hurricane Matthew forced the change, as the Strikers will be making their way up to Cary, N.C. from South Florida.

"After consulting with the League and Ft. Lauderdale, we all agreed that rescheduling the game to Sunday was the safest option for all involved," said RailHawks President and General Manager Curt Johnson. "We expect a good competitive game on Sunday and look forward to the match as we make a push for the playoffs."

All tickets for the October 8 game will be valid for the rescheduled Sunday game. Should any ticket holders be unable to attend the game on Sunday, they can exchange their October 8 ticket to the games on October 12 or 22 by visiting the RailHawks Box Office to exchange in person or by calling the ticket hotline at 919-459-8144.

Gates will open an hour before kickoff at 12 p.m. and all game day activities will operate as usual with the exception of the RailHawks Fan Bus, which will not be running.

The matchup between the RailHawks and Strikers is the second Week 15 clash to be postponed because of weather concerns stemming from Hurricane Matthew. Jacksonville Armada FC and Indy Eleven will play at a later date after having their Saturday encounter moved.

"At the end of the day, the safety of our stakeholders - players, coaches, staff, and fans - is our top priority," said NASL Commissioner Bill Peterson. "We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we work through this situation."
