Cary, NC (Friday, August 8, 2008) - The Carolina Railhawks lost to the Montreal Impact 2-0 on Friday night in an electrifying match that saw three ejections and an exciting ending. Montreal scored early in the first half when Severino Jefferson took advantage of a lapse in the RailHawks defense and slotted a ball past RailHawks goalkeeper Chris McClellan. The second goal came late in stoppage time when Montreal Substitute Pato Aguilera slipped past McClellan and found himself in front of an empty net and two RailHawks defenders. The match also saw three ejections in as many minutes with David Stokes for taking down Montreal's Di Lorenzo in the 88th minute, Chad Dombrowski for dissent from the bench in the 89th and Montreal's Brillant in the 90th for a nasty tackle on Ryan Solle. The RailHawks had some significant chances early on with Dan Antoniuk and later in the game with Frankie Sanfilippo narrowly missing the goal on a header from a corner kick.
