Tampa, FL - The USL unveiled the schedule for the First Division on Monday. The Season will start the weekend of April 11th and end the weekend of September 21st, making it two weeks longer than the 2007 season. With eleven teams in the league every team is set to play each other three times.
The Carolina RailHawks will begin their season by visiting the 2007 championship runners-up Atlanta Silverbacks, on Saturday April 19th in Atlanta. The RailHawks home opener at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary will be on Saturday, April 26th as they host their other Southern Derby Cup rival, the Charleston Battery.
The Carolina RailHawks will have a chance to defend their Southern Derby Cup Champion Status on May 10th at home against Atlanta, on May 31st in Atlanta, at home in Cary again on September 6th against Charleston and finally in Charleston on September 19th just one day before they are set to close the regular season at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary on Saturday, September 20th against the Portland Timbers.
The Carolina RailHawks and the Carolina RailHawks Women will host two doubleheaders this season at WakeMed Soccer Park. The first one on Saturday, May 24th as the RailHawks take on the Rochester Rhinos, and the second on July 3rd amid the RailHawks Independence Day festivities when the men host the USL-1 2007 Champion Seattle Sounders. The opponents for the Carolina RailHawks Women will be announced as the USL unveils details for the W-League schedule.
Other games of note for the 2008 season at WakeMed Soccer Park are May 28th, as the RailHawks host the first of two home matches against Seattle, August 8th and 30th, when sparks will definitely fly between the RailHawks and the Montreal Impact, and September 14th, when Rochester returns to Cary for a second match this season.

On sale date for individual tickets will be announced at a later date.
The Carolina RailHawks are a United Soccer Leagues team that entered the USL First Division in April 2007. The squad played 14 regular season home games and seven additional home playoff, exhibition and US Open Cup games in its Inaugural Season, with all home games played at SAS Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. Under Rochester Rhinos co-owner and USL Hall of Fame inductee Chris Economides, the RailHawks organization was formed in October 2005 and awarded the USL franchise in January 2006. In September of 2007 the Carolina RailHawks announced the addition of a USL W-League team under the direction of Head Coach Jay Howell.
