
RailHawks earn first home victory

Cary, NC (Friday, June 6, 2008) - The Carolina RailHawk Women earned their first home win by defeating the Bradenton Athletics 4-0 Friday night. RailHawks forward Casey Nogueria led the attack with two goals and an assist. The RailHawks put pressure on the Athletics starting with the first shot of the game, which hit the post and went wide. The RailHawks dominated play and finally beat Bradenton goalkeeper Shanonon Aitken in the 39th minute. When Nogueira dribbled through two defenders before finding Kelly Attayek open. Attayek then blasted the shot into the top right corner out of Aitken's reach. The RailHawks continued to dominiate the remainder of the game, out shooting the Athletics 17-5. Goals were scored by Attayek, Vera and Nogueria.
The RailHawks women are on the road until June 28. Until they return you can catch the RailHawk USL-1 team in action. Their next home game will be on Tuesday June 10th at WakeMed Soccer Park at 7:30 PM against the Brooklyn Knights in the first round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.
