North Carolina FC News Release
Cary, N.C. - The Carolina RailHawks will offer track-out camps starting Oct. 12. Track-out camps are designed for children ages 5-13 and will focus on the basic fundamentals of soccer, including dribbling, shooting, passing and rules. This camp is designed for all level of players who want to learn fundamental skills.
The camps will run Monday through Thursday every week starting Oct.12 until Nov. 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost of each four-day camp is $125 per child. Parents will not want to miss this opportunity to have their children learn from professional soccer players while spending some time in a friendly atmosphere at WakeMed Soccer Park.
All camps are conducted by RailHawks head coach Martin Rennie and Carolina RailHawks players including midfielders Josh Gardner and Joseph Kabwe. Rennie, a native of Thurso, Scotland, holds UEFA 'A' and Youth coaching licenses, one of only a handful of coaches in the world to hold both.
In 2009, he guided the team to a 16-7-7 regular-season record, a runner-up finish in the USL First Division and a berth in the USL-1 quarterfinals. In just one season under Rennie, the RailHawks established new team records for wins, points, shutouts, goals scored, goals allowed and longest winning streak, among others.
Prior to joining the RailHawks, Rennie coached the USL-2's Cleveland City Stars, where he was twice named the USL-2 coach of the year. In two seasons under Rennie, the Stars went a combined 23-5-16 and won the 2008 USL-2 championship.
