
RailHawks Announce Pre-World Cup Appearances

CARY, N.C. (Friday, June 4, 2010) - The Carolina RailHawks will be out in the community all next week participating in several events including a number of viewing parties for USA vs. England. Fans will have a chance to meet the players, interact with them and win prizes while enjoying great soccer themed movies and world-class soccer matches.
Everything begins with the first feature of the Independent Weekly's Kicks & Flicks festival on Monday June 7 at 8 p.m. at the Pinhook in Durham where RailHawks players will be viewing a screening of the acclaimed documentary "Pelada". The film festival continues on June 9, 10, 11 and 18 at different locations in the area including a screening of "Looking for Eric" at the Galaxy Theatre in Cary after which RailHawks coach Martin Rennie will participate in a Q & A with fans.
On Saturday June 12 fans will have a chance to meet the RailHawks at different establishments around the Triangle as the players will be at local bars in Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill viewing the USA vs England match. Below is a full list of events and locations.
All fans are encouraged to participate in all these events, come out and meet their favorite RailHawks and have a chance to win fabulous prizes including tickets to games and autographed merchandise. As the World Cup continues, the RailHawks will announce other events surrounding several of the games.
The RailHawks travel to Portland on June 6 and Vancouver on June 9 before returning to WakeMed Soccer Park for the First Round of the US Open Cup on June 15. The next regular season match will be on Saturday, June 19 at 7 p.m. when the RailHawks host Crystal Palace Baltimore. It will be "Bark in the Park" night and fans are encouraged to bring their pets to the stadium. The RailHawks will also be celebrating "Father's Day" and the organization will be honoring all dads throughout the evening with giveaways and prizes to be announced on Monday.
